Since 2010 project Africa for Africa has continued to provide training for youths from the slums of Nairobi. This year marks the eleventh graduation of students from our project. Empowerment of the youth remains the primary goal of the AFA project.
It is on this model that we continue to support youth transition through computer skills training and education support at primary, college and university levels.
AFA held its 11th graduation on the 29th of July 2023. Thirty-four youths graduated in computer skills and were awarded relevant certificates. In attendance were board members, former AFA beneficiaries, graduating students and guardians. Other beneficiary students are currently in different secondary schools and universities in Kenya and Uganda.
Some of the AFA beneficiaries gave a very encouraging speech on how the project has changed their lives. Most of them are now employed in various fields and are able to support themselves.
Our project has also been of benefit to the children’s home Scream Africa and the Vijito school. We are grateful for both local and international help, mainly from the Czech Republic, that has enabled our project to operate effectively during this period.
