Report from the 14th graduation ceremony

This year our project held its 14th graduation ceremony for graduates of the computer education course. A total of 25 students successfully completed their studies. This is another step in the project’s mission – to equip young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with basic IT skills.

Families, community members, and project coordinators gathered to celebrate the graduates’ achievements. The ceremony was also attended by children from the Scream Africa orphanage and other recipients of educational support that the Africa for Africa project has been providing at the secondary and university levels for a long time. To date, the project has supported 61 students who have found employment in various professions, demonstrating the long-term impact of education on transforming their lives.

In his speech, Dr. Phanuel Osweto, project manager, expressed his deep gratitude to the sponsors and partners whose generosity has sustained the program since its inception in 2009. “Thanks to your trust and support, many young people not only from Mukuru but also from other areas of Kenya have been able to obtain an education that opens the door to a better future,” he said.

The ceremony concluded with encouragement from board members to the graduates to use their newly acquired knowledge responsibly and become agents of change in their communities and families. Stories were also shared from former students who have found employment and are contributing positively to society, serving as living testimony to the mission of the project.

The goal of the Africa for Africa project remains to change the lives of young people one by one by providing them with knowledge, opportunities, and hope.

Congratulations to the 25 graduates of the 2025 computer education program and thank you to all the project sponsors!
